The featured artists collectively embark on a creative exploration of materials, themes, and environments. While they have uniquely mastered their craft of manipulating and elevating repurposed materials specific to their personal trajectory and/or cultural identity, each share a commitment to paying homage– honoring tradition, storytelling, and the creative process in and of itself.

Embodying memory, ancestral narratives, mythologies, and physical materials as vessels, Homage not only links past and present but refuses to erase our respective histories. In the vein of paying Homage, we commemorate the history held within these walls: what was once a function of Red Hook’s maritime manufacturing industry.

Studio Loutsis worked closely with the curators, artists, and staff of Center Space in developing the brand identity, content, and design.
