Toronto-based rap artists Jugger launched a full album and three single with 3 music videos vides.
Studio Loutsis designed two music video title cards and visual identity for CMFTZN and Stunt Devil, both songs produced by Wondagurl and Red Bull Records. The design team pulled inspiration from the music video art direction’s grit of CMFTZN taking place in a trap house amd Stunt Devil following the narrative of Jugger a super hero.
The show’s logo is set in a san serif typeface with a distressed treatment that adds a layer of grit to an otherwise simple wordmark. Studio Loutsis spray painted CMFTZN to evoke the texture naturally, and then for Stunt Devil, we repeatedly scanned the printout of the custom letters until the texture was naturally developed over layers of scans.
The central type remains consistent in each episode, but the texture subtly changes in each title sequence to reflect the show’s progression.
The secondary typeface, Monospace, contrasts with the textured display of the title card. The monospace font was initially inspired by the utilitarian visual language of receipts and bank statements with the chase for riches/nod to money top of mind throughout the videos.
